HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A CLASS?

Bring along:

  • A big towel, one that can cover your mat
  • Yoga mat
  • Water (we sell water at our studio)
  • Smile
  • Wear something you are prepared to sweat in. We practise barefoot, so wear shoes that you can easily slip on/off
  • A change of clothes, if you desire (we have showers & change rooms)
  • If you are coming for Yin Yoga or a non-heated class, bring any props such as towels, bolsters, or blocks for support

WHAT ABOUT FOOD?

We recommend that you don’t eat a heavy meal 2-3 hours prior to class. If you’re hungry just before class, stick to a small, light snack like fruit, crackers or a snack bar. Please ensure you are hydrated before class, otherwise it can lead to feelings of nausea or dehydration during class.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Comfortable, form-fitting clothing that moves with you and preferably made from moisture-wicking fabric. Items that won’t hang down when you sweat or move and interfere with your practice. Think: T-shirts, singlets, shorts, crops… and no shoes!

I’VE NEVER DONE YOGA OR PILATES BEFORE/i have existing injures!

We all have to start somewhere. All our classes are catered to beginners through to advanced. No matter what your level of fitness or experience is, EVERYONE finds our classes challenging but rewarding, so persist and just do the best you can! It’s never too late to start. Do your best, have an open mind, be prepared to work hard and sweat and soon you will be doing things you never thought possible.

Do I need to bring anything else?

We do not offer rental mats for hygiene reasons. If you do not have one, you can purchase one at the studio. Your items will be safely stored during class as the studio doors will be locked during class times.

WHEN SHOULD I GET THERE?

Please ensure that you arrive at least 15 minutes before class commences. It’s never great to feel rushed or stressed before class and we do not admit students into a class once it has commenced.

CHECK-IN

Please book into class online to avoid disappointment. Upon arrival, please check-in for your class with the teacher at reception upon arrival.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF

We encourage first-time visitors to introduce themselves to the teacher and place their mat on either the second or third row from the front.

Where do i park?

There are lots of free street parking spaces and metered car spaces around Grote Street and surrounding streets.

I’M PREGNANT. IS IT OK TO COME TO One?

Firstly, congratulations! Yoga is an excellent form of wellness to enhance your pregnancy. Please note that we do not offer dedicated prenatal or postnatal classes. Please speak to your doctor and obtain clearance for practice. Once approved, please notify your teacher so they can guide you through the necessary modifications.
